Definition

The Perpetual Rosary is an association of people for whom the Holy Rosary is recited every hour, without interruption from the first to the last day of the year, to make Mary a perpetual cult and obtain from It a perpetual rescue.

This association forms the Queen of Angels’ Guard of Honour down here. Its members choose an hour, during which they recite a complete Rosary in order to line up in battle as real Knights of Mary..

Purpose

The Perpetual Rosary is intended to ask God for Mary the good of all the faithful in general. In particular, it has historically had three ends: first, the conversion of sinners, second, the good death of the agonizing and third, the liberation of the souls of Purgatory.
Recognizing, however, the extraordinary seriousness of these times we felt it necessary to update the objectives of our recitation to the following:

1. Thetriumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the liberation of mankind from the infernal forces and from the sects that cooperate with it and are its instrument.
2. The conversion of sinners and the salvation of souls to God’s greater glory, conquering as many souls as possible to the Immaculate Heart so that through His Immaculate Heart they may be more perfectly united with the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Will of God.
3. The restoration of theOrdo Christianus, the only order capable of guaranteeing the true spiritual and material good of man because it conforms to the laws of the Creator’s will. The restoration of the Christian Order involves the dismantling of the revolutionary forces, the restoration of the primacy of Truth as the founding principle of thinking and acting, against apostasy, theological modernism and moral relativism that are rampant inside and outside the Church, the formation of a Catholic social fabric and a system of government that places god’s laws first, as the foundation of the true common good.

The initiative is inspired by an ancient Brotherhood born around 1630 by Father Tommaso Ricci o.p. and re-established in the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii by Blessed Bartolo Longo around 1885. The idea, originating from the discovery of an old book of the Neapolitan Blessed, is to revive this Brotherhood and, if it is possible, also take it from a formal point of view, thus restoring a link certainly significant from the point of view of the spiritual heritage.

“The first idea of this work was inspired by a Dominican cleric (P.Tommaso Ricci) around 1630. This pious thought was blessed by Heaven. In January 1635, Fr. M. Petronio Martini from The Dominican Bologna, eager for the Virgin Mary day and night to be continually praised, published the Perpetuous Rosary in the Church of St. Dominic of Bologna, in which the sacred and verginal body of the Holy Patriarch happily rests. He disposed to the people every hour of the year so that everyone in the hour that had come to him would recite the SS. Rosario. This is what Fr. Giovanni Demora of the Pred tells. in his Jewel of the Rosary, printed in Cream in 1647; and so is the Postquam Bubble of Pius IX. Many Popes accepted it, and more than 60 thousand people from the Holy City took part. Alexander VII, Innocent XI, Clement VII and Pius VI favored it and enriched it with indulgences. The number of associates became immense. Italy alone was among a million associates: there were a large number of bishops and more than a thousand religious communities at the head of them.“

“This devotion, meanwhile, did not exist among us: Italy did not count for any surplus. The bishops of France and the PP. Dominicans in their convents set out in their minds to renew it in a more regular and more complete way to make around the Mother of God as a Guard of Honor who takes the defense of her worship and who is the avenger of her enemies this thought had its execution, and from the beginning was crowned by great success. But then expelled the fries from their convents, this holy devotion remained extinguished in several places, or goes there only to some secular and some good priests and religious zealots. However, we must pay well-deserved praise to the RRs. PP. Dominicans from Lyon, France, who have always kept alive this sacred exercise with booklets and medals and Menstal publications, and in particular with their Periodic La Couronne de Marie. But today, four times over the course of two years the Vicar of Jesus Christ, the High Pontiff Leo XIII, has called the whole Catholic world to the fervour of the first devour of the Rosary, in that way that was revealed to St. Dominic. (i.e. with two Encyclicals, of September 1883 Supreme Apostletus Officio, and of 30 August 1884 Superior year, and with two Brevi : Sulutaris ille of 23 December 1883, and the last of 20 August 1885); in the nascent Shrine of Pompeii, this association of the Perpetual Rosary was established for the first time, whereing each associate recites the Rosary perfectly as the SS. Virgin taught it, that is, 15 placed with the meditation of the 15 Mysteries.”

“The first prerogative of a work and it concerns the present day, that is, the present needs of the time: it is for this quality that it takes root in the society in which it lives and in which it does good. Now of laws is recognized in the Rosary Perpetuo an entirely topical work:

1″ Because it is a continuous prayer in the world that no longer prays, where The Holy Scripture makes us certain to come to God and give prayers when they are continuous.

2nd Because it is the source of graces to regenerate our cancrenate society, for it was solemn promise that Our Lady made to St. Dominic, that with the Rosary of 15 places would extinguish all heresy, eradicated hell, removed sin to society, restored peace to families, restored virtue or peoples.

3rd Because she makes Mary known and glorified in these days when, growing the impleousness with diminishing faith and respect to the authorities of the Church, the lenient Queen of the Universe has erected in the Valley of Pompeii her throne of mercy, from which she lays infinite thanks to her children who invoke her with the song most delight to her heart, with the crown of the 15 posts.

4th Because he offers us as a guard of honour to defend her from the outrages of her enemies, today especially that sacrilegious hands and mouths have vilified the Immaculate Mother of God.

5th Because it defends the militant Church now since other times, being the Rosary the Tower of David, the bridge of salvation of society and the Church, the scourge of the devil.

6th Because it consoles the suffering Church, giving the Rosary to priests and bishops the necessary strength to fight error, and to keep the faith firmly among Christian families, freeing from the prison of Purgatory so many souls brides of Jesus Christ.

7th Because it revives and prospers the Brotherhood of the Rosary, receiving for this association many thanks to the Queen of Victories, and in this way everyone feels moved to belong to the Brotherhood that is so dear to the Holy Virgin.”

Indulgences (taken from the book of Blessed Bartolo Longo)

“In addition to the indulgences attached to the recitation of the Rosary, both pei Brothers and the faithful who are not part of the Brotherhood of the Rosary, there are special ones, all Plenarie. A plenary in the association for the hour at the Rosary Mensuale (Gregory XVI 23 January 1844). Another plenary indulgence on the day assigned to the hour of the Perpetuous Rosary, always after the Confession and Communion.

And finally the High Pontiff of f. M. Pius IX with his Brief of April 13, 1867, which begins, Postquam, Deo manente granted the Plenary Indulgence once a month (to be able to apply to the souls of Purgatory). All the faithful, who in the hour assigned to them will devour the whole Rosary, provided that on that day they receive holy Communion. With the instinct Breve granted eitindio the plenary indulgence to the Prefects of Division and Section on the day of their entry into operation (on the conditions as above); and another 300 days to make money each time they make others ascribe to the association.“

“1st A continuous special protection of Mary. 2nd The union of prayers and intentions of thousands of associates at all times of life; because we have a special part to the countless Rosaries that are said at every moment of the day and night. If we are in a state of sin, a thousand voices urge our conversion at all times. When the supreme hour rings for us, we will be assisted by countless prayers. If we descend into Purgatory; many powerful suffrages will relentlessly demand our liberation.“
